On September 22, 2018 elected officials and government officials from the Department of Housing and Community Development joined with community residents and other stakeholders for a groundbreaking ceremony at the corner of East 21st Street and Boone St. This marks the beginning of the construction phase of a project that has been planned for three years by the architect Tamar Ezzat of ddb Workshop working with his father Taz Ezzat of Maryland Custom Builders.

They will start by razing one existing rowhouse and initially will build two market-rate newly constructed homes. When the project is completed they plan to build eight homes in total. The homes will feature 3 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths, a garage and a basement.
