American Brewery

In April and May 2013 GGCA board members attended the 2013 East Baltimore Leadership Academy, a three-session training program held at the renovated American Brewery building on Gay Street and the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Community Center on North Milton Avenue. The program was sponsored by Citizens Planning & Housing Association in partnership with Baltimore City Department of Planning and the Annie E. Casey Foundation.

The goal of the Academy was to equip East Baltimore City residents with the essential leadership, community engagement, and urban planning knowledge and tools in order to strengthen their communities.

Courses included Zoning: What It Is and Why It Matters, Understanding the Development Process, Introduction to Community Engagement and Principles of Communication for Community Associations.
