2012 Clean Community Competition Check
Greater Greenmount Community Association board members, along with Michael Mazepink of People’s Homesteading Group and Robert Stokes of Councilman Stokes office display a $5,000 symbolic check that GGCA received for being the northeast quadrant winner of the Mayor’s 2012 Clean Community Competition.
GGCA was one of seventy-one neighborhood associations that developed and implemented plans to keep our communities clean. Winners and runners-up were chosen from four quadrants of Baltimore. The first place winners received $5,000 and the second place winners received $1,000.
The photo was taken on the lot at the corner of Greenmount Avenue and East North Avenue. This lot, which had been a trash-strewn eyesore is now an ornamental garden.
