Mayor's Spring Clean-up |
In 2010 the date for the Mayor's Spring Clean-up is April 17th. If you are interested in being part of helping us clean up the neighborhood contact Sandra Coles at info@greatergreenmount.org. Last year we had a total of 21 neighborhood volunteers who started cleaning up from two locations - the corner of Boone St and North Ave and the corner of 23rd St and Guilford Ave. At 23rd and Guilford, in addition to our community volunteers, we also had support from the Charles Village Community Benefits District Management Authority’s Clean Team. The Clean Team, under the direction of CVCBDMA Executive Director David Hill, had negotiated with the City for a dumpster to be located at the corner. They also provided pick-up trucks and help with the overflow from the dumpster. We are also grateful to GGCA President Sandra Coles who worked with the Sanitation Department as the Sanitation Department went the extra mile to come up with a solution to deal with the illegally dumped construction material in the neighborhood. Be sure to check out the pictures from the clean-up in our photo gallery. |
